Luxury versus Basic: The Lexus and Demio

Lexus, though it is not commonly known, belongs to Toyota.  Lexus is Toyota’s version of luxury.  The first Lexus appeared on the market in 1989 in the United States.  It took until 2005 for the Lexus to be offered in Japan as a luxury car. The Demio is a Mazda.  Mazda when compared to Lexus is a very basic vehicle.  The Demio was launched in 1996 as a station wagon.  The current model on the market was launched in 2007.  There are three body styles with this vehicle.  There is a 5 door hatchback, 4 door saloon, and 3 door hatchback.  The vehicle was created with either a manual or automatic.

The design of the Lexus typically offers a fastback profile, lower set grill, and upgraded interior options.  For example, Lexus is known for having leather heated seats, air conditioning, cruise control, automatic seats, and automatic windows. Lexus also offers internal temperature options and more.
When you compare the Lexus and Demio you are looking at two different cars that make it almost impossible to compare unless you want a Isuzu Elf.  Used Japanese Lexus are more affordable than your new model, even when there are accessories.  The factor you must consider when going for a used Lexus is the devaluation.  Any time you drive a new car off a lot the car instantly loses value.  Lexus tends to hold their value better than more basic vehicles.  In this case, the vehicle can still be costly compared to a used Demio like used Cresta.

Since Mazda Demio tends to have non leather seats, basic interior options, and a quality design you can expect used Demio’s to be reasonably priced.  Demio tends more towards a family car.  Small families can fit in the four door hatchback, but you also have the option of a two door vehicle if you don’t have a family.
Lexus sells a range of models.  The SUV is a great family car except for the gas mileage.  They can be a bit more expensive with the lower gas mileage.  Still, they are overall more comfortable.  When choosing a used car comfort as well as operating costs is most likely important to you.
So whether you want a basic or luxury vehicle you have the option of the Demio or Lexus, respectively.  Japanese used cars are made to last for several years, allowing you to find the model you want.
