One of the big things today in the used car sale world is whether or not a used car warranty is worth having on your vehicle.  It does not matter if you are driving a used Toyota Corolla or something else, we need to remember that when we go to get a new used car the salespeople are only going to tell us consumers what we want to hear when it comes to the warranty.  Warranties do not cover everything, and that is the one trick of the trade car salespeople will get you with every time.  And because many less than honest dealers are getting repairs on vehicles made under the warranty using false pretenses, it is no wonder manufacturers are starting to deny more and more repair claims.

As a car owner you are responsible for reading your original purchase and warranty contract and understanding what is and is not covered.  You are the one that must keep up that scheduled maintenance of the vehicle as listed in your ownerﾕs manual.  If you do this when you purchase your car new or used you will not have any problems getting repairs made under the specifications of the warranty on your car.  You remain honest with them and they will take care of you and your vehicle every time.

In addition to understanding what the used car warranty on your cheap Toyota or Toyota Sprinter entails to keep it in force you also need to be aware of what the warranty is going to cover.  The manufacturer will take responsibility on things such as the engine, suspension, computer components, transmission, steering, instruments, chassis wiring, emission control devices and more.  All of these items will have varied coverage based on the length of time you have your car and how many miles are on it.  Things that wear out through normal use, such as hoses and belts, are not going to be covered.  These are your responsibility.

Used car warranty coverage varies just like it does with a new car warranty.  If you participate in a used car sales that offers you a used car warranty, make sure you know exactly what is covered and what is not before you drive off that lot.  Additionally, it is good to make sure the dealer has all of your current information so that if there are any recalls that need to be addressed they can contact you in a timely fashion.
